Vision Offering 2026 – June
1 June - 30 June
Vision Offering 2026
Over three Sundays from the 7th June through to the 21st June we’ll be receiving our annual church Vision Offering. Vision Offering is our opportunity each year to make a significant investment together into the future of The River, and to advance key areas of our church life and facilities while also partnering with kingdom work beyond our local church too.
Update On Bathroom Renvations From Last Year’s VIsion Offering
We have a tentative start date of Monday 6 July to begin work on the bathrooms here at church. It’s going to be a really great upgrade and we think that you’ll love it! Our Sunday services will continue as normal over the renovation period, but there may be some alternative arrangements for bathrooms over a couple of Sundays – we’ll keep you posted on this.
Vision Offering This Year
In terms of what we’re looking to invest into for Vision Offering this year – we’re planning some needed upgrades to our Connect Area – in terms of tables, chairs and couches, along with repainting the floor as well. We’re blessed to have such a great area for connection and for other meetings during the week too – but after 10 years of service, it definitely needs some work!
We’re also planning on making more room on Sundays for our growing congregation – one of the key elements of this will be in removing the large sound desk booth in the auditorium and building a new, sleeker one against the back wall. This will enable us to get a whole lot more chairs in the area.
The budget for these upgrades is around $50,000, so that’s what we’re believing for this year to come in through Vision Offering.
Along with this, we’ll also be investing 10% of everything that comes in through Vision Offering into a ministry or work beyond The River – we want to ensure that we’re not just receiving, but that as a church we’re also giving corporately as well. We’re reviewing some options at this stage for potential investment and we’ll keep you posted on it.
How To Get Involved
We don’t put any pressure on people to give in Vision Offering – all we ask is that each person simply asks God what they should give – and then give exactly that amount. We’ve found over the years that God provides in incredible ways for us when we all just simply ask Him and do what He says.
We’ll be taking up Vision Offering on Sundays, and you can use your banking app or make an AP to the church bank account:
River Of Life Christian Church Trust
12-3089-0217751-00 (please put VO20256in the description).
If you would like to do a pledge over 3, 6 or 12 months – you can either fill out one of the pledge cards which will be located at the giving station at the back of church, or you can email accounts@theriver.org.nz with the details. Pledges are great because they help us to know what’s still coming in so that we can plan.
Why We Do Vision Offering
We use Vision Offering each year as a way for us to advance forward in a specific area of church life, facilities or ministry. Over the years nearly every part of our church building has been funded from Vision Offerings – from the roof to the walls and ceilings in the auditorium, air conditioning, sound, lighting, projection, live-streaming, the stage, the carpet, auditorium chairs, River Kids, the Connect Area, coffee machine, church van, Events Room, the decor, painting the building, and the fact that we’ve got a second church in Pukekohe!
But Vision Offering isn’t just about getting things done around the building, it’s also a great opportunity for us as believers to give and to bring an offering to God which is full of gratitude and thanks for all that He has given us. Historically God gave Israel a way to bring ‘thank offerings’ to Him, which were then used to provide for the temple and the priests – we see Vision Offering as a similar concept. It’s an opportunity once a year to not just bring thanks and praise to Him with our song or activity – but to bring it in the form of finances.
So thanks for your consideration and partnership in this! Let’s be asking God how He would have us give this year, and be faithful to simply do what He says. As always, He is our provider, and He’s faithful to always make a way!
Blessings,
Peter Morton – Senior Pastor
