DIGITAL BOUNDARIES WORKSHOP – THURSDAY 22 AUGUST 7-8:30PM
Brett Harvey from Tāima Kōrero is a nationally recognised communicator with specific expertise in this area, and in the ‘Digital Boundaries’ seminar, Brett aims to equip young people with the tools they’ll need to be able to make wise choices around what they’re viewing online.
In today’s digital world, young people being exposed to harmful material online isn’t a question of ‘if’ but ‘when’. By providing strategies that allow parents and kids to work as a team, we can mitigate the harmful effects of pornography and other material on Aotearoa’s young people.
DIGITAL BOUNDARIES is a fun and interactive night designed for young people aged around 9-12years old (eg last years of primary school and intermediate school years) along with their parents. Price is $10 per adult parent or caregiver, but children in the 9-12 age group can come for free. There is no additional childcare available for younger children, so we’d encourage parents to organise a babysitter and just come along with their child in the age group.
Date & Time: Thursday 22 August 7-8:30pm
Location: Events Room, The River Christian Church, 69 Ben Lomond Crescent
