RIVER KIDS (5-10 YEARS – Pakuranga and Pukekohe)

Sunday 10am – 11:30am

This is church especially for kids with games, crafts, lessons and worship – tailored just for them! Kids learn principles from the Bible, experience the Presence of the Holy Spirit and find out how much God loves them!

CRECHE (0-2 YEARS – Pakuranga Only)

While you’re in the main meeting, your little ones will be looked after by caring people who just love kids!

KIDETS (3-4 YEARS – Pakuranga Only)

Pre-schoolers have a fun time with toys and activities, and through interactive fun learn about how to worship, pray and hear from God!

If you are year 7 – 13 then River Youth (Pakuranga) is for you!  River Youth is an awesome place to make friends, have fun and encounter God for real.

River Youth is on Friday nights and we do a mix of  “Encounter” nights with worship, games, a speaker, breakout groups and more, and fun event nights which we either run at River Youth or head out to places like ice skating, mini golf or bubble soccer.

On Sunday we run a programme for our year 7 and 8’s called Transition fortnightly. We stick around for the worship then head out for a fun and age relevant teaching with our awesome youth leaders. The other Sundays we stay in church or help serve in different ministries.

We love doing life together and believe that God is real and wants you to know Him and do awesome stuff to you and through you.

We are looking to start up River Youth in the future at our Pukekohe church too so watch this space!

Head along to our address 69 Ben Lomond Cres and you will see our friendly parking team who will be able to guide you to where there is an available park.

There is parking all around our building and along street as well as in the business next door to us. We also have disabled parking  available right by the entrance.

When you arrive you will be greeted by our friendly greeters team. They are there to help so if you have any questions feel free to ask them.

Head into the auditorium and we start off the service with some live worship with our awesome band. Our MCs will then lead us through what’s coming up at The River, prayer points and communion (fortnightly). After another worship song together, one of our pastors or guest speakers will share a message from the Bible that we hope will encourage, guide and help you grow in your relationship with God. At the end of the service our ministry team are available to pray for anyone who would like prayer. Our services run from 10am – 11:30am.

After the service people hang out in the connect area where barista coffee is available as well as self serve tea and water. If it is your first time the coffee (or cookie if you prefer) is on us!

The River Christian Church is an independent Pentecostal church. Here are some of the things we believe as a church:

  • We agree with the Apostle’s (or Nicene) Creed – the basic statement of faith for Christian churches across the world:
  • I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
  • We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old Testament and New Testament are the inerrant, inspired, and infallible Word of God. God’s Word is the final authority for faith and life.
  • We believe there is only one God, and He has chosen to reveal Himself as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe man was created in the image of God and the sin of Adam (the first man) marred that image, creating an eternal divide between God and man. Every person is born in sin.
  • We believe the only way a person can have a true, forgiven relationship with God is through Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary and conceived by the Holy Spirit. Jesus became man without ceasing to be God. Our right standing with God is made sure because of His literal, physical resurrection.
  • We believe in the literal, physical return of Jesus to judge the living and the dead.
  • We believe God offers eternal life as a free gift and that it must be received by faith alone through God’s grace alone.
  • We believe the power of the Holy Spirit is given to believers today, and that through faith in Christ we can walk in the same miraculous power that Christ demonstrated in the Scriptures.
